Deborah J. Stojak
Debbie has collectively over eight years of experience in state and local tax working for the Department of Revenue in both the state of Alaska and Washington where she adjudicated tax appeals ranging from multi-million dollar oil and gas tax cases to individual excise taxes. Prior to joining the firm Debbie worked for the State of Alaska Department of law where she represented the public interest in complex regulatory proceedings involving public utilities. Debbie’s experience at the Department of Law included advocacy at all levels of regulatory controversies ranging from trial-like proceedings before the Regulatory Commission of Alaska to administrative appeals before the Superior Court and the Alaska Supreme Court.
Debbie grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and attended the University of Michigan where she received a B.S. in Natural Resources. She received her J.D. from Lewis and Clark Law School. Her love for the natural world first brought her to Anchorage in the summer of 2005 where she took an internship with the Municipality of Anchorage. Her love for Alaska compelled her to accept a position as a law clerk in 2006 and she has called Alaska home ever since. When not working, Debbie enjoys spending time with her two children and husband outside in Alaska skiing, camping, biking, hiking, and rafting.
